Gemeinde Mittelberg

The municipality of Mittelberg in Kleinwalsertal includes the villages of Riezlern, Hirschegg and Mittelberg. Kleinwalsertal belongs to Vorarlberg and is assigned to the administrative district of Bregenz. The municipality of Mittelberg is located directly at the border to Germany and due to its geographical position and the 'Walser Gebirgskette' (Walser mountain range) it has no direct road connection to Austria. The transport connection and also the basic economic supply is provided from the neighboring Allgäu. This means that the municipality of Mittelberg belongs politically to Austria and economically to Germany.
